Brandlive Joins Twitter's New Periscope Producer API Program

We are excited to announce that as of today, Brandlive is an official partner of Twitter’s new Periscope Producer livestreaming API program. This move by Twitter is certain to make live video even more attractive to the world’s most well-known brands, as it allows companies to more easily livestream to Twitter.

At Brandlive, we’re focused on making it as easy as possible for brands and retailers to broadcast live video events across multiple channels (both owned and earned), in order to engage their audiences with inspiring and interactive productions. With Twitter simplifying the technical requirements for our customers to simulcast a Brandlive event to Twitter and Periscope, it will be easier to include their Twitter audiences in future live video events.

With this API, Brandlive customers will be able to easily connect with their Periscope accounts, authenticate and go live from a high end encoder. The integration builds on top of Brandlive’s current connection with the Twitter commenting API, in which Brandlive viewers and moderators are able to comment via Twitter as well as Brandlive. Brandlive also has a #hashtag listener for drawing in comments to Brandlive events and our metrics console.

“Brands are adopting live video for some of the most innovative marketing efforts today, such as live video commerce events, exciting product launches and even live video concerts and runway fashion shows,” says Fritz Brumder, our CEO and co-founder. “We are excited about the Periscope/Brandlive integration as it makes it easier for these brands to reach more audiences with the same production effort.”

Live video is rapidly maturing and being used today to bring a human experience to digital channels. Brandlive works closely with many of the world’s top brands for utilizing live video for private internal events, and private and public external events. Internally, companies are finding success in aligning their employees as global and virtual workforces become the new normal. Externally, live video has been incredibly effective in training partners, resellers and distributors, and critical in inspiring and interacting with consumers around marketing campaigns and new product offerings. As brands look to evolve their strategies, the common mindset is to reach all of their audiences, across all digital channels, at the same time - from their own websites and mobile apps, to their social media channels.

So congratulations to our partner Twitter today! We are excited to see how the market adopts this latest enhancement as they continue to increase their investments in so many aspects of live video.
